Property Underwriter – Crypto Mining & AI Infrastructure

The Role We’re looking for an industry expert with hands-on experience building and/or operating bitcoin mining facilities or AI data centers. This can include expertise from analyst, engineering, or project management roles, and we expect you to be deeply curious about where the industry is going, and eager to be a key part of how it gets there. Your role will be to support our underwriting team by evaluating the operational quality, technical integrity, and overall risk posture of the facilities we insure.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate prospective insureds’ data center infrastructure for underwriting purposes 
• Assess risk across all stages of facility development, from site selection and electrical design to commissioning and daily operations 
• Conduct due diligence on technical designs, uptime plans, cooling systems, energy procurement strategies, and operational procedures 
• Help to develop and implement risk assessments and pricing strategies based on operational data 
• Participate in occasional site visits and technical audits 
• Stay current on trends and innovations in the AI compute and crypto mining infrastructure space 

Ideal Candidate Profile

• 3–5 years of experience building or operating bitcoin mining facilities or AI data centers 
• Strong understanding of facility infrastructure: power systems, cooling, networking, physical security, and operational best practices 
• Ability to synthesize technical complexity into concise risk evaluations 
• Passion for the intersection of frontier tech and risk management 
• Excellent communication skills; capable of interfacing with engineers, underwriters, and executives
