About the Hackathon
iExec Vibe Coding Challenge
Build privacy-first applications using Confidential Tokens
Overview
iExec is launching the Vibe Coding Challenge, an online builder challenge focused on creating privacy-first applications powered by Confidential Tokens using the NOX protocol.
Inspired by the emerging Vibe Coding movement, this challenge encourages builders to experiment with AI-assisted development, rapid prototyping, and Web3 privacy technologies.
Participants will build applications powered by Confidential Tokens, demonstrating how privacy can unlock new possibilities in Web3.
The goal is simple: turn ideas into working prototypes quickly using vibe coding tools.
More information and resources are available on the official page:
https://vibecoding.noxprotocol.io/ or https://noxprotocol.io/vibecoding
The Challenge
Build an application using Confidential Tokens of the NOX protocol power by iExec.
Your project should explore one of the following use case categories enabled by Confidential Tokens:
- Private Payments & Transfers Build systems for confidential payments, payroll, or peer-to-peer transfers with hidden amounts.
- Confidential DeFi Create DeFi applications (trading, lending, yield strategies) where positions and strategies remain private.
- Confidential Real World Assets (RWA) Enable tokenized real-world assets with private ownership and allocation.
- Private On-Chain Stocks Build tokenized equities (e.g. cAAPL, cTSLA) with confidential balances and transactions.
- Tokenization Protocols Develop infrastructure such as ERC-3643 or ERC-7540-based protocols for compliant and privacy-enabled assets.
- On-Chain Payroll Design payroll systems that protect salary information while remaining verifiable on-chain.
Participants are encouraged to experiment and build creative prototypes.
Team Size & Collaboration Rules
Teams can include up to 5 participants. You may form a team in advance or join one at the start of the hackathon. If you’re looking for teammates, please use the dedicated Discord channel.
Prize Pool
Total Prize Pool: 2400 RLC
🥇 1st Prize 1200 RLC
🥈 2nd Prize 700 RLC
🥉 3rd Prize 500 RLC
Rewards will be distributed in RLC tokens.
How to Participate
Participants must complete the following steps:
1. Build Your App
Create an application using vibe coding tools or traditional development.
Examples of tools include:
- Claude Code
- Cursor
- Prompt packs
- Any AI-assisted coding tool
- MCP
2. Integrate Confidential Tokens
Your project must integrate Confidential Tokens using the NOX protocol.
These tokens should have a utility within your application, such as:
- rewards
- governance
- private payments
- in-app currency
- access control
3. Submit Your Project: share Your Project on X
To officially submit your project, your submission must include the following elements:
Publish a post on X (Twitter) presenting your project.
Your post must include:
- A short description of your project
- A demo video showing your application
- A link to your GitHub repository
Make sure to tag @iEx_ec in your post.
This post will act as the public showcase of your project during the challenge.
Builder Ideas
Need inspiration? Here are concrete project ideas you can build:
- Yield with confidential vault Build yield-generating vaults that protect strategy positions and capital allocations from copy-trading and MEV
- cRWA with confidential tokenized equity Enable confidential tokenized equity on-chain, protecting investor positions and allocations while maintaining regulatory compliance
- Confidential value transfers Create private payment systems, payroll, and confidential transfers that hide transaction amounts while remaining verifiable
- Privacy-preserving DeFi primitives Build lending, borrowing, and other DeFi primitives that process sensitive data without exposing it publicly
- Tokens with hidden balances & amounts Create ERC-7984 compliant tokens where balances and transaction amounts are hidden from public view
- Selective disclosure workflows Implement audit and compliance workflows where users control exactly who can access their data, enabling regulatory requirements without sacrificing privacy
- Institutional-grade DeFi & RWAs Enable institutional adoption by removing transparency blockers, making DeFi and RWA products ready for discretion-sensitive capital
Deliverables
Your submission must include the following:
-
A public GitHub repository with:
- Complete, viewable, open-source code.
- A README file with clear instructions for installation and usage.
- Comprehensive documentation for setting up, deploying, and using the dApp.
-
A functional front-end for the dApp.
-
A brief demo video (4 min) showcasing your dApp's functionality.
-
Ensure originality and respect intellectual property rights.
-
Specify any existing work and what was done during the hackathon if integrating iExec dev tools into an existing project.
Note: iExec reserves the right to withhold bounties for submissions that do not meet these criteria or track specifications. The bounty prize will also cover hosting costs for the dApp for one year.
Evaluation Criteria
Projects will be evaluated based on:
Creativity Originality and innovation of the idea.
Use of Confidential Tokens How well the project integrates privacy tokens.
Technical Execution Quality and functionality of the implementation.
User Experience Ease of use and clarity of the application.
Vibe Coding Spirit Ability to rapidly prototype and experiment using AI tools.
⭐ ⭐Your project must be deployed on Sepolia Arbitrum or Arbitrum
⭐ ⭐You have to provide some feedback about the iExec tools with a feedback.md doc directly in your github repository
⭐ ⭐ you must have a 4 min max video
⭐ Technical implementation: How well does confidential Defi project leverage iExec privacy tools
⭐ Real world use case: Does your project solve a significant problem in Defi space
⭐ Code quality: Is the code well-written and maintainable (considering time constraints)?
