AI BUIDL Lab: Use Prompt Engineering to Build Real Web3 Apps on Rootstock

Welcome to the (A)I BUIDL Lab on Rootstock, a groundbreaking hackathon designed to empower developers to accelerate their dApp creation and deployment using AI-driven workflows in partnership with thirdweb and Alchemy and powered by RootstockLabs.

This hackathon focuses on building real-life Web3 applications that leverage AI tools for faster development and innovative use cases on Rootstock, the first and longest-running Bitcoin sidechain.

Whether you’re a seasoned Web3 developer or new to the ecosystem, this is your chance to push the boundaries of decentralized finance (DeFi), real-world asset tokenization (RWA), commerce, and identity solutions, all while using AI to enhance your development process.

Hackathon Tracks:

1. DeFi and Payments

Build innovative decentralized finance (DeFi) solutions using AI for faster contract creation, payment systems, and automated protocols.

2. Commerce and Gig Economy

Explore how AI can streamline eCommerce, digital marketplaces, and gig economy applications, driving automation and improving user experience.

3. Identity and Reputation in Web3

Develop AI-driven systems to enhance identity management, reputation systems, and privacy solutions in the decentralized Web3 ecosystem.

Prizes:

Total prize pool of $15,000 USD in RIF Token, plus exclusive partner rewards!

Each of the 3 tracks will have:

• 🥇 1st place: $3,000

• 🥈 2nd place: $1,000 in RIF

Subtotal: $12,000

Bounties - Best Use of AI Prompts ($3,000 total)

Submission Requirements:

• Project Overview: Name, short description, and the track you’re submitting to.

• GitHub Repository: Open-source code repo with clear README and instructions.

• Demo Video (2-5 min): Show how your dApp works, how AI was integrated, and your project’s impact.

• Live Demo/Deployed App (Optional): Hosted or testnet version of your project for interaction.

• AI Process Documentation: A breakdown of the AI tools used (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot), how they assisted in your development, and the prompts or workflows employed.

• Prompt Submission: Submit structured prompts in either JSON or Markdown format to highlight how AI contributed to your project.

Judging Criteria:

Our expert judges will assess submissions based on the following criteria:

• Innovation: How unique and impactful is the solution?

• Use of AI: How effectively was AI integrated into the project, from development to deployment?

• Relevance: Does the solution align with one of the hackathon tracks and provide real-life use cases for Web3?

• Technical Execution: Code quality, usability, and overall product readiness.

• Presentation: Clarity and quality of the demo video, AI process documentation, and prompt submission.

• April 10th - Hackathon submissions open
• April 30th - Hackathon submissions close
• May 13th - Winners announced

Fraud

Any participant who attempts, by any means, to defraud or tamper with the terms of (A)I BUIDL Lab on Rootstock will be immediately disqualified from the hackathon and will not be eligible to participate in any future activity conducted by the RootstockLabs. The latest reserves the right to disqualify participants who do not comply with the requirements set forth in these terms, at its sole discretion.”

Payment of Prizes

All prizes shall be credited in the informed wallets within 15 (fifteen) business days after the winners are announced. In order to calculate the amount of RIF that the winners shall receive, RootstockLabs shall use the “Close” exchange rate of USD/RIF established in Historial y Datos Históricos del Precio de Rootstock Infrastructure Framework | CoinMarketCap correspondent to the day before the payment.”
